The Equip Series - Day 10 - Messiah Revealed In The Day of AtonementYom Kippur, The Appointed Time

The Equip Series Day 10 Messiah Revealed In The Day Of Atonementyom Kippur The Appointed Time

Bear with me on this Special World Event on the Equip. As its meaning dawns on me I am overwhelmed!

Yom Kippur powerfully and gloriously reveals Israel’s Eternal High Priest, Yeshua the Messiah!
All the Feasts of the Lord, known as the Moedim or the Appointed Times have been given by God to prophetically and powerfully speak of Messiah who is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets!
The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) occurs 10 days after the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Ha Teruah.
Trumpets heralds the coming of the Righteous King who will judge the living and the dead.
And Yom Kippur speaks of the Eternal Blood Atonement made by the Spotless Lamb of God Slain Before the Foundation of the World!

Who Is also the Great Eternal High Priest of Israel and the Nations!
Yom Kippur is an amazingly powerful and perfect time to present the gospel in a Jewish context to Jewish people. The revelation of Yom Kippur properly presented will blow the minds of any Jewish person who is a seeker of truth!

Atonement is all about the blood sacrifice and is a central theme in the Hebrew Scriptures.
In the Book of Hebrews it says, “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”
In the 3rd Book of Moses it says:
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ (Leviticus 17:11)
Blood atonement is foundational to the faith of Israel. Search the scriptures and you will see the sacrifice.

The problem is that today Yom Kippur has been watered down merely to a day of fasting and prayer but the blood atonement is gone!
Where did it go?

By me asking and you understanding the answer to this question, you will be equipped to help your Jewish hearer understand that today, the Day of Atonement no longer brings atonement.
Why?
There is no atonement!
Or is there?

When the Temple was destroyed by Rome in 70AD there was no longer a way for the High Priest to go into The Most Holy Place this day and offer the Yom Kippur sacrifice.

Let me explain,

Far better, there is a God inspired commentary that explains and reveals how Yom Kippur continues to this very day!
Learn and understand this mystery and you will add a razor sharp double edged sword to your arsenal that can cut any spiritually sensitive Jewish person to the heart concerning the eternal meaning of the Day of Atonement.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

That commentary is aptly called, the Book of Hebrews!
In Hebrews it speaks about Yom Kippur:

Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary. For a tent was prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the bread of the Presence; it is called the Holy Place. Behind the second curtain stood a tent called the Holy of Holies, having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, which contained a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail. (Hebrews 9:1-5)

“And it shall be a statute to you for ever that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict yourselves, and shall do no work, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you;
for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins you shall be clean before the LORD.
It is a sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict yourselves; it is a statute for ever. (Leviticus 16:29-31)

The High priest, Kohen Gadol, would go into the most Holy Place once a year on Yom Kippur, the day of Atonement, with the blood of atonement.

But many centuries later something happened that changed everything! The great majority of Jewish people have never heard of the following which is the MOST HISTORIC EVENT IN ALL OF JEWISH HISTORY!

And Yeshua cried again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom; and the earth shook, and the rocks were split;
(Matthew 27:50-51)

When Yeshua breathed His last breathe, the curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place, the Holy of Holies, was torn in two! Since that moment we all have access into the Presence of the living God!

But Messiah came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (Hebrews 9:11-12)

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, (Hebrews 10:19-20)

Imagine! We because of the atoning death of Messiah as a Kingdom of Priests now have access into the Holy of Holies!

This is the dream of Israel and the very heart of God!

This is unknown to Jewish people. As you communicator the gospel through the context of Yom Kippur you take on the mantel of a prophet!

You see those who proclaim the finished work of Messiah are prophets, even more than a prophet !

For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (Luke 7:28)

Understanding this appointed time will unveil in your spirit what Yeshua accomplished when he died as a sacrifice for the sins of Israel and for the sins of the world.
